Project Example 01
CO2 Laser Cutting of Visible Parts
A visible plastic part is processed with 21 sprues per cycle. The critical requirements are a tolerance of 0/+0.2 mm and a maximum cycle time of 45 seconds.
Customer requirements
The customer has specific requirements for this project.
On a visible plastic part, 21 sprues are to be cut off to a tolerance of 0/+0.2 mm, and the cycle time must not exceed 45 seconds.
Implementation concept
Our team proposed the following concept for implementation.
- To meet the cycle time, two independently operating laser systems were included.
- To achieve the required accuracy and further reduce the cycle time, two independently operating vision systems were included.
- To cut every sprue at the optimum angle, each laser system was equipped with a 4-axis system.
Machine design
Once all technical details have been clarified, the system design is finalized and the system is integrated on site at the customer's facility.
